iRocker SPORT 11′ Review
iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP is a decent, relatively high quality performance-oriented all-around board more suitable for paddlers weighing less than 385 pounds in flatwater conditions looking for more challenge, but can otherwise be used by basically anybody in basically all water conditions. iRocker provides decent customer support and a warranty to top things off.
iRocker SPORT 11′ inflatable stand up paddle board has seen improvements compared to its previous iterations, optimized in regards to customer feedback.

Quick Overview For The Hasty
iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP measures 11′ x 30″ x 6″ (length x width x thickness), weighs 25 pounds and has a weight capacity of 385 pounds with optimal paddler weight being around 250 pounds, but be more or considerably less than that won’t cause too much of a problem. Package comes with everything you need to get on the water (apart from a PFD).
Who is this for? beginner/intermediate riders up to 385 lbs who are into a bit more of a feeling of challenge by gliding through the water with more speed. If I had to pinpoint, I’d say it’s best suited for moderate touring on calmer waters, like lakes, some ocean or calmer rivers, otherwise it’s an all-around iSUP. iRocker SPORT could be used to surf smaller waves, too. Larger paddlers might find it too unstable though, unless you remained in forward motion right away with little standing around in one spot.
How’s the performance? Built for speed while allowing to maintain manouverablity and some stablity, iRocker’s quickest SUP board, the iRocker SPORT.
About other features of iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP package:
- Relatively verstile
- Portable (in a backpack)
- Military grade durability
- iRocker’s quickest board
- Great rigidity
- 3-fin setup – (1) toolless flip lock main fin, (2) fixed sidefins
- 6 D-rings with bungee storage area at nose
- 4 D-rings in the middle for various SUP accessory items
- Comes with quality iRocker paddle, backpack, leash, handpump and repair kit
- 2 year warranty
Who And What Is iRocker SPORT Designed For?
In short, iRocker SPORT 11 is designed for:
- who: rider(s) up to 385 lbs (beginner/intermediate experience level);
- what: performance-oriented ALL-AROUND (moderate touring flatwater, some surf)
Being 11 feet long, 30 inches wide and 6 inches thick with a narrow tail, which reduces drag on the water, makes it a rather fast and manouverable SUP board with decent enough stability. The cue is in the name: SPORT.
Although iRocker SPORT iSUP is fast, I wouldn’t call it a dedicated racing SUP board – it leaves you some stability and expands its uses while giving you the something of a speed to feel. It’s also got this kickpad at the back for you to be able to turn better on the water, so it could be used for some surfing I recon, but I wouldn’t call it a sufing SUP board. iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP is something of a sporty touring board. It’s a kind of mix of performance-oriented kinds of SUP activities for flatwater conditions. Not optimal for the harsh river riding as it would just dive the water from a fall with its nose, maybe a doable challenge for the experienced paddlers.
Sidenote(s) for larger paddlers:
It might feel too wobbly for you. I’m saying this because I’ve seen some larger paddlers report to have not exactly enjoyed a more stable board than iRocker SPORT is, namely the iRocker ALL-AROUND 11′ which was built more for stablity in comparison. However, I feel like the complainers simply didn’t bother to get the hang of the board first because it was annoying to get back on as a larger paddler, which I understand, but past the initial struggle, I’m sure having tamed the beast would have been that much more rewarding of an experience overall.
So here’s to say you might want to try and give this board, the iRocker SPORT, a chance with a more dedicated mentality going into this at first. The aftermath will likely pay off.
BUT… that might be a little risky in the sense that putting up such an effort might just be too much for the mere fun time the boards are meant for. The intial struggle might even make you become to hate SUP altogether if it ended up feeling like a mistake…
I’ve made a full circle, haven’t I? Perhaps a wider board would be better for a larger beginner paddler after all. It probably depends on what you’re looking for in a SUP board to begin with…
How Does iRocker SPORT Perform?
In short, when it comes to the performance of iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP:
- won’t just throw you off, sort of keeps wobbly on it kind of stability
- feels fast (not a dedicated race board)
The SUP board definitely has elements that make it fast. It’s relatively narrow and long, especially the nose and rear of the board, the front cutting through water and the back having less drag on the water is why. Because of such elements, the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP board gives up a little at the stability department, but doesn’t give it all away so as to not leave out the fast learning or/and dedicated beginners. Also, being like that, it allows for more varied usages than just and only racing, such as flatwater touring (lakes, calm rivers, some ocean, etc) and some surfing.
How Is This Review Conducted?
I’ve read dedicated reviews, small factual disclosures, customer reviews and their experiences with the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP board in order to learn more about this board myself.
In the process of learning about it myself, I’ve structured and written my findings in a way that allows people like me to learn more about this SUP board for whatever reason.
As a reminder: there is no inherently perfect board. Seemingly similar boards can be different in some hidden aspects. Even as trivial as color, or bias or skill level, might change the whole feel of the exact same SUP board for two different people.
Specs Of The iRocker SPORT 11 Board When Inflated
|Weight Capacity (lbs)||385|
1 – type
As you may have noticed, I sort of classified the iRocker SPORT to be an ALL-AROUND, but it seems to be most suited for some short-distance touring… It’s not a dedicated racing nor surfing board, although it’s performance-oriented. It’s a sort of mix of performance oriented SUP activities though. A snappy touring board is what I’d like to call it. It’s capable of building up speed while maintaining a little more than necessary stability and turning ability, which I image makes it an okay surfing board as well.
Probably too narrow for river riding – the board might somewhat dive into the water if you went down a fall…
2 – construction
It’s an inflatable SUP board with heat-welded seams and a six-inch quad-layer drop stitch military-grade core, making the board extremely durable. As it’s inflatable, it can be deflated, rolled up and stored in a backpack (more about it somewhere below). The iRocker backpack comes with the purchase of iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP package.
3 – length
The iRocker paddle board is 11 feet in length. It’s a tad bit too long for surfing, good for shorter distance touring though.
4 – width
It’s 30 inches wide at its widest point, giving iRocker SPORT its decent enough stability. It’s a tad bit too wide for racing, though it’s still fast as it’s narrower from the front and back ends. Width dictates how stable the board is side-to-side.
5 – thickness
The iRocker SPORT is 6 inches thick. Typically, inflatable boards range from 4 to 6 inches of thickness. Thicker boards feel stiffer and more stable than thinner boards.
6 – tail width
The tail width is 12 inches. It’s relatively narrow, but not too narrow. It reduces drag on the water, making it faster, but it’s not too narrow, so the iRocker SPORT iSUP board doesn’t tip from side-to-side too wildly.
7 – weight
iRocker SPORT weighs 25 pounds. Relatively speaking, it’s considered lightweight. If you deflated this board and stored in the backpack that was fully loaded then the backpack would weigh 39 pounds (more about the backpack somewhere below).
8 – weight capacity
The board’s weight capacity is 385 pounds. It could carry more than one person in theory, but due to it’s design, it might be a little complicated when it comes to stability. A dog could sit at the front easily according to people owning this board though.
9 – volume
iRocker SPORT volume: 231 liters (L). Volume is a kind of reference point for determining optimal performance relative to one’s weight.
The size of deflated and rolled up iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP board is 33 inches in width and 13 inches in diameter.
What is iRocker SPORT Made Of?
As with every iRocker board, the iRocker SPORT iSUP board is made of:
- quad (4) layer military grade drop stitch material
The iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP board, much like all the iRocker boards, is made of quad (4) layer military grade drop stitch material, which makes the board extremely tough, comparable to a hard board.
What is PVC? PVC material (link opens in a new tab).
Inflatable boards are more durable than hard boards, so no drop, dent or ding will damage this inflatable board.
What Are The Features Of iRocker SPORT?
iRocker SPORT 11′ inflatable stand up paddle board comes in 3 different color codes: blue/white stripes, white/blue stripes, white/gray stripes.
Aside from colors, following are the features of this board:
- 6 D-rings with cargo storage bungee at nose
- Carry handle
- Crocodile textured diamond groove deck pad
- Inflation valve
- 1 D-ring for ankle leash
- 3 fins
1 – nose D-rings (6) and bungee net
The bungee net held by the 6 D-rings located at the board’s nose can be used to store stuff under it, such as the paddle or a drybag which can store additional items. The 6 D-rings could be used for other stuff too.
2 – carry handle
Somewhat in the middle of the iRocker SPORT board, there’s the carry handle for carrying the board around. The handle is made of material that doesn’t tear your hand when carrying the board with it. If that’s too inconvenient, the carry straps can be used instead thanks to the 4 D-rings mentioned earlier, bought separately.
3 – deck pad
The board has a crocodile textured diamond groove deck pad which is soft enough for a comfortable ride, but is mainly there to help you keep you on your feet. The deck pad doesn’t get too hot when paddling under the sun.
4 – kickpad
There’s a small lift at the back end of the board’s deck pad. When, for example, surfing smaller waves, you should be able to get a better feeling where the deck pad ends without having to look down to get your bearings and can focus more on the activity instead. It’s the small details. As you shift the weight on the board to the back end, the front end lifts up more, allowing you to make turns without the paddle.
5 – inflation valve
As with every inflatable stand up paddle board, the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP has an inflation valve as well, located at the rear of the board. This is where you can inflate this paddle board using the handpump that comes with the purchase. A full inflate takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the optimal air pressure (15 PSI). At about 7 PSI you might feel like it’s already full, but it’s not, so keep pumping. The air pressure can go up to 23 PSI, but they say 15 PSI is all you need.
6 – rear D-ring for ankle leash
The last D-ring just below the inflation valve is for the leash. The leash connects you with the board, so if you were to fall off, the board doesn’t drift away and leave you stranded.
7 – 3 fins
On the flip side, there are 3 fins. Two of them are fixed smaller sidefins. Between the two sidefins, you’ll find a bigger detachable flip lock main fin. No tools are required for sliding it into place and flip the lock nor for detaching it.
What Else Is Included With iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP Package?
When you buy the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP package, as with all iRocker packages, you’ll get to choose your preferable color code – this board has 3 different color code – and you also get all the included iRocker accessories that come with the purchase:
- backpack carry bag,
- repair kit.
Additionally, offered separately for extra cost are the iRocker:
- kayak seat,
- kayak paddle blade attachment.
Starting with the accessories that are included with the purchase of the package, let’s break it down in more detail.
The iRocker paddle floats, it has a convenient rubber grip, its color will match with whatever you chose your boards color to be, can be adjusted from 72 to 86 inches in length and can be broken down into 3 pieces for conveniently storing in the backpack. With that said, it’s made of fiberglass. Fiberglass is considered lightweight and inexpensive, comparable to a wooden paddle. Notice how the edges are enforced for more durability. Though I feel that the performance oriented board will be bottlenecked by this paddle. The upgrade next in line would be a carbon based paddle, but that would cost 2 or 3 times as much. Perhaps the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP board was not dedicated for surfing nor racing for a reason, so yeah: that’ll do, fib, that’ll do. Learn more about SUP paddles here (link opens in a new tab).
LeashThis, the iRocker coil leash, is also included with the purchase of the package and will be color coded according to what you chose for your board color to be. You’ll likely fall more often with this board, so a leash could prove useful if not life saving addition.
Backpack carry bag
Built for traveling, the irocker backpack is made of quality materials and is big enough to fit all you need – the iRocker board (deflated), detached paddle parts, leash, repair kit and more, such as change of clothes, a towel and some more. The inner side of the bag has 2 adjustable straps to secure the contents inside. There’s also an extra handle on the side of bag for easier time carrying it by your side. Once fully loaded, I’ve gathered the size of the backpack/bag will be 3 feet (or 37 inches) tall, 16 inches wide and 18 inches deep (give or take couple inches), weighing 39 pounds.
Included with the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP package is the iRocker triple-action handpump you will be able to switch to dual or single action when the pressure gets too high and triple action becomes too difficult to pump with.
The pump has an integrated pressure gauge on top. It allows you to know what air pressure you’re at when pumping. The optimal air pressure is 14-15 PSI and it can hold up to 23 PSI (but they don’t seem to be saying it any more because they seem to believe that anything over 15 is an overkill). It will likely take you about 5 to 15 minutes to inflate, 3 to 10 min to deflate and roll up.
When you buy the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP package, you’ll also get a SUP repair kit. The kit is inside an orange plastic cylinder container with a screwed lid on top. Inside you’ll find a valve wrench and 3 PVC patches.
So Is iRocker SPORT For You?
The package includes almost everything you need to get on the water (doesn’t include a life jacket). That said, it’s an affordable yet high quality board. Although that sounds, and really is too, nice, that alone doesn’t mean it’s for you just yet. What are you looking for in an iSUP?
Generally speaking, the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP board is for beginners/intermediates and more performance oriented, primarily for flatwater touring it seems, but also for some surfing on smaller waves, or anything else you’re capable of pulling off. If you considered yourself to be a larger paddler, things might become a little too unstable with this SUP board and the struggle might beat the purpose of the activity.

You’ve found a suitable board when you were looking for an extremely good quality yet affordable performance-oriented inflatable stand up paddle board for flatwater conditions (moderately touring) with a bit more of a speed to it, and also for some surfing. If this kind of challenge is up your alley, generally speaking, the iRocker SPORT might be the one you’ve been looking for.
The company behind this board has been at it for years now, each year improving on their boards, making them better in respect to their customers’ feedback.
iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP Board
The iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP is built for speed with enough stability preserved. Better suited for flatwater conditions (lakes, some ocean, calmer river) and some surfing. Honestly, as long as you’re up to it, it can do almost anything – seen people write how they did yoga on it. It can handle larger (though it will be more challenging correspondingly) or multiple paddlers (again, there are limits to it not in the weight capacity but in how difficult it may become to handle like that).
Included in the iRocker SPORT 11′ iSUP package are iRocker quality board, paddle, backpack, ultralight handpump, leash and a repair kit.
